Holiday Cleaning Checklist ✅

The schools are almost out, the sun is shining and many of us will be thinking about our upcoming summer holidays.

But as we get a headstart on all the packing and errands to do, one job on the to-do list might be making sure our home is spick and span before we leave so we don’t return to a messy house.

In the kitchen, throw out or freeze any food that’s going off to prevent it going mouldy while you are away, wash any dirty dishes and cups and wipe down the sink with your Sph2onge to ensure there aren’t any food particles left.

Have everyone pick up items off the floor including clothes and return them to their usual spots and empty all the rubbish bins and wastepaper baskets. Towels are particularly prone to mildew so make sure any damp towels are hung up or washed.

We all know we’re going to return with loads of laundry so make sure you can at least arrive back to an empty laundry basket, including bedding, and don’t accidentally leave any damp clothes sitting in the washer or dryer.

Lastly, if you’re driving off on holiday, why not use your Sph2onge to get your car gleaming? You could even keep one in your glovebox to mop any spills or mess as those traditional British traffic jams might mean you spend a while in your car!

So whether you’re off to Cornwall or Corfu, cleaning now could save a world of time on your return.

  • I always spend the day before my holiday cleaning, so that when I come home the house is clean and tidy and all I have to worry about is the unpacking and laundry!!
